How Do I Order Replacement Windows?

Once you have decided what kind of windows you want, the next step is to place your order. A custom window replacement is a multi-tiered process. A custom window project takes approximately 6 to 8 weeks from the day you sign the contract.

At Canadian Choice Windows, we are here to ensure your replacement windows are installed quickly and effectively. Here’s a quick overview of the process for having your replacement windows installed.

Your Order

The kind of window you choose and the window size plays a big part in the time it takes to be manufactured, shipped and installed. Basic windows requiring no customisation take about 4 to 6 weeks to be installed. However, when you add in extra features for energy efficiency, the timeline naturally increases.

Your Contract

According to Canadian laws, you have a 10-day cooling off period before you can cancel your contract. The company won’t process your order until the cooling-off period has passed.

This is a good time to make any necessary changes to your order. But, if you are sure about your order, and want it delivered as quickly as possible, you can choose to waive that clause. In that case, the window manufacturer will process your order immediately after you sign the contract.

Your Decision

When you want your windows delivered to you at the earliest possible time, make sure your contract isn’t left incomplete. Here the customer is responsible. When a project consultant visits your home, and asks for your preferences, be sure you know what you want. Of course, the consultant will be happy to help should you need it, so discuss your requirements with him so he can help you take an informed decision.

This ensures that your contract is complete, and ready to be processed without a delay.

Speeding Things Up

Our customer care team receives a lot of calls asking for ways to speed up the window installation. Our advice is to carry out window replacement in stages. We would be happy to sign multiple contracts to help you take advantage of multi-stage replacement.

Installation Day

The day has finally arrived when your windows are to be installed. The following aspects play their part in the time it takes for the actual installation:

Number of windows – If you have a couple of basic windows, the installation will take a few hours. If it involves, more than 5 windows, or complex installation such as bay windows, it will take one whole day at the very least.

Exterior Finish – Windows with aluminium capping will take more time to install than vinyl brickmould.

Speak to our customer care team if you have specific requests such as availability limitation. If you are replacing windows in the entire house, we may allocate more installers to have the installation done in time.

Clean Up

Your window company should remove old windows. At Canadian Choice Windows, we offer this service at no additional cost to you. In fact, we will even clean up the place to leave behind a sparkling clean space to showcase your replacement windows.

Choose A Window Company Wisely

Choose a provider who offers a wonderful experience from start to finish. Look for subtle signs such as their customer care team’s response to your questions, and the project consultant handles your requests. Do they offer clean up at no extra cost? Do they offer warranty on the workmanship. If something sounds too good to be true, be sure to verify the company’s claim before you take their word for it.
