The area has a unique landscape surrounded by Lake Ontario, Kawartha Lakes, the Niagara Escarpment, and Lake Simcoe. These areas all come together to create the natural ecosystem called the Greater Toronto Bioregion.

To keep your Vinyl Windows clean, create a gentle mixture of soap and water to wash the vinyl window frame and trim. Start by rinsing the area with clean water, then use the soapy mix to clean it. Use a sponge or a soft brush to remove any dirt. Rinse the area thoroughly with clean water and use a microfiber cloth to dry the window.

The typical lifespan of windows is 15 to 20 years, but they may need to be replaced sooner. Is there a chill outside, but nice and toasty in the home? Condensation often occurs on windows because their surfaces are colder than the walls of a nicely insulated home. There are a few quick ways to prevent this type of condensation: use a dehumidifier, open windows for ventilation, or operating exhaust fans in the bathroom or kitchen.
Since the condensation is coming from the humidity in the home, try using a hygrometer. Hygrometers can be used to keep track of temperature changes within in the home and help you take appropriate steps to reduce humidity and condensation. Keep in mind that condensation appearing between the panes of double or triple-paned windows could mean a leak, and that could lead to further problems if not fixed promptly. Not sure if have a leak? Frequently used windows are prone to developing air and water leaks over time, a condition known as air and water infiltration. Water infiltration is typically more noticeable, as it causes condensation on the windowsill. This happens because windows are designed with weep holes that let the internal water drain, which can result in water buildup on the windowsill during certain weather conditions.
Our customers have saved up to 30% on their energy bills after replacing their windows! Total energy savings will vary from household to household due to other factors like insulation, and weatherproofing.
Energy loss is when warm indoor air loses its energy by transferring it to the window, becoming cold, and settling at the bottom of the room. The cold outdoor air gains energy by hitting the windowpane, then rises as warm air, creating a continuous cycle of heat transfer. It can make your home colder and less comfortable, and increase your heating bill! Book an in-home estimate today to see how you can stop energy loss in your home: https://www.windowscanada.com/contact-us.html

Low-E (low emissivity) glass coating is a transparent metallic layer applied to glass surfaces to enhance energy efficiency. It allows short-wave solar energy to enter the building while reflecting long-wave infrared energy, which is crucial in maintaining heat during the winter. Let’s keep the warmth in! Low-e glass helps to retain the sun’s energy while limiting heat loss from inside the home. This coating is particularly useful in colder regions (looking at you, Canada) where keeping warmth indoors is essential to avoid using electric or furnace heat. Want to learn more? Check out our article here: https://www.windowscanada.com/whitepages/what-are-low-e-coatings.html
During the colder months, windows and sliding glass doors may experience condensation, also known as "sweaty windows," due to low temperatures and high humidity. This can obstruct the view, cause water to drip onto the floor, and even freeze on the glass. When it gets too cold out, but stays nice and warm in the home, your windows may sweat. This is less likely to occur on walls that tend to have higher temperatures that disperse the moisture.
Why is it important? Severe cases of window sweating can lead to the growth of mold or mildew, so it’s important to have a professional address the issue as soon as possible. Are you experiencing window sweating in your home? Contact us today for a professional opinion: https://www.windowscanada.com/contact-us.html
UV protection is always a safe bet, for any home. Our sealed units are equipped with LowE coating, offering UV protection, and ensuring year-round comfort regardless of the weather conditions. During the summer, the LowE coating effectively blocks heat and harmful UV rays from entering, while in the winter, it acts as an insulator, preventing heat loss to the outside and maintain a warm and cozy environment. It is a popular choice among homeowners because it is both cost-effective and lightweight.
We are happy to provide free in-home energy audits to help you understand exactly where your home needs to be optimized in order to save you money on your energy bills for years to come. Book a consultation with us to get started! https://www.windowscanada.com/appointment/
U-Value shows how much heat loss is happening to a specific window. A 0.1 U-value is very little heat loss, while a 1.0 would be high heat loss. The R-Value is the overall insulating value of a window. A good R-value range is usually greater than R-5.
Generally, the ideal time to replace a window is when the weather is not too hot, but not too cold. That being said, our highly skilled team of installers are able to install windows year-round.
As we manufacture our products, we’re able to offer fully customized windows from one-of-a-kind sizes and shapes to unique colours. Contact our team to get started on your custom project: https://www.windowscanada.com/contact-us.html
All of our products are manufactured at our local Canadian Choice Windows and Doors facility in Ontario, Canada.

Our replacement materials are made with Vinyl, which is quite popular due to their durability, low maintenance requirements and energy efficiency. They provide good insulation (we even have the option to also do foam-filled frame!) and are resistant to moisture and rot. Our vinyl windows come in a variety of colours and styles, so no matter the window, it can suit your home’s décor.
Our entry doors can be made from two different types of materials: Steel or Fiberglass! Our steel doors are known for their strength, security, and durability. They are resistant to the harsh Canadian weather, cracking, and warping. Our steels doors come in a variety of colours and styles, and have an insulated core for energy efficiency.
The other option are our Fiberglass doors, known for their versatility and durability. Designed to mimic the appearance of wood doors, they can be more expensive compared to steel doors. Fiberglass doors also offer good insulation and can withstand various weather conditions.
When purchasing a fiberglass door from CCHI, we do recommend consumer to purchase a multipoint lock system for added security. We have a beautiful selection of hardware to choose from.
We offer plenty of flexible financing options and payment plans, along with supporting you through the grant process to ensure you maximize your return. Contact our financing team to learn more about the options available to you: https://www.windowscanada.com/contact-us.html

We do offer repair and service on our products on a case-by-case situation. We want to make sure that every home is warm, cozy and insulated! During your free in-home estimate, your sales rep will measure your existing windows and provide recommendations for your replacement windows.
nvesting in new residential or commercial windows and doors is more involved than buying new furniture for the living room. Windows are intended to last for decades. In the best-case scenario, they require minimal maintenance, make the home more energy efficient, and add something to the visual appeal of the place.
For many people, the home is the most significant financial investment they will ever make. Protecting it means managing basic upkeep and performing maintenance when and as needed. While many homeowners do well in terms of addressing the more obvious aspects of maintenance, the presence of mould in the home can be neglected.
After more than a few months of considering the options, you have finally decided that it is time to replace your windows. However, naturally, replacing windows is more than just a trip down to the local window shop or big box contractor store; you need to know how to measure windows!
Replacement windows can go a long way toward keeping your home more comfortable or even lowering your energy bills, but many consumers aren’t sure how often they should replace their windows. If you are curious about the best time to replace windows, the following advice can help.
For many, the process of buying windows can seem like a daunting one. Many do not know the difference between a sash and a side jamb, and with the choices in colour, make, and style, it would be nice if there was a guide for window replacement that was clear and concise.
Have you taken a good look at your windows lately? Do one or more of them stick or not remain in place when you raise the sashes? Now might be the ideal time for new windows. Before you make any decisions, there are some things you should consider closely.
If you’ve been considering the idea of replacing the aging windows in your home, the topic of soundproof windows has likely come up. Depending on the experience you’ve had with the older windows, this particular attribute may be of special interest.
When investing in windows, it is important to go towards quality. Cheap windows are never a good idea for the simple reason that they will not be able to stand up to the elements that we have here in Canada.
Over the past several years, Canada’s home improvement industry grew in sales tremendously, from 45.5 billion in 2019 to 59.6 billion in 2021, with an estimated total of 65.1 billion by the end of 2023.
