Canadian Choice Windows & Doors™ makes its vinyl windows to order, not as finished units from another brand. The frame, sealed glass, and installation stay with one company, and the window is built to your home's opening.
That order starts with measuring every opening. The custom unit is then manufactured in Canada, which takes about two to four weeks. A factory-trained crew installs it, and any manufacturing or installation issue after that day stays with the same company.
Canadian Choice Windows & Doors has manufactured for Canadian homes since 1997. The trusted choice. Canadian-made. One company manufactures, installs, and services the order, so a post-installation problem doesn't send you to a brand you cannot reach.
The finished vinyl window is manufactured in-house, not outsourced as a completed unit, at 55 Westcreek Drive, Vaughan, Ontario, L4L 9N6. That is why a window manufacturer in Vaughan is also the company that installs the window.
Some individual parts for windows or exterior doors may be manufactured in Europe. The company vets those parts and assembles the products in Ontario. The company has not published an in-house extrusion step.
A custom specification is the measurements of your openings, plus the style, colour, and glazing you confirm before production starts. We don't pull the window from a shelf of standard sizes and trim it on the truck.
The first visit is an in-home consultation. The advisor assesses the existing frames, measures every opening, and leaves a written quote. The advisor submits final measurements and the order in the first week. The advisor confirms styles, materials, colours, and glazing options before manufacturing begins.
Three items have to be locked before the plant starts:
If those three are still open, the window is not in production. From that visit to the completed install, the path is typically two to six weeks.
Vinyl window manufacturing is the plain name for this build: a lead-free uPVC frame around a sealed glass unit. uPVC is rigid polyvinyl chloride, the construction-grade plastic used for the frame and the sash. The same plant builds the vinyl range, from casement and awning windows to sliders, hung windows, bay and bow, and architectural shapes. Wood and aluminum-clad windows are a separate line, so ask where a specific wood unit is made before you assume it follows this process.
It is not a casement-only shop. Steel entry doors are manufactured at the same Canadian facility, in accordance with NFRC standards, and are ordered separately from the window.
The frame and sash are lead-free uPVC, built to resist fading, discolouration, warping, cracking, and peeling. Corners are fusion-welded for strength. Multiple-chamber frames and sashes add thermal efficiency and sound control.
Those chambers sit in the uPVC windows the plant builds for replacement. Foam inside the frame is optional and not included in every unit. DraftLOCK windows on this line carry ENERGY STAR certification and use sealed Low-E glass.
The glass is a sealed unit, not a single pane you swap on its own. Glass units come from Cardinal I.G. and Guardian Glass, with a Low-E coating and an argon fill. The spacer is the Endur IG Cardinal system, engineered for consistent long-term performance.
Melting the pane itself is a different process. How glass windows are made covers the raw glass and the coating. The window-building process starts when the finished unit is set into the frame.
The window manufacturing process Canada homeowners can actually name has four stages, and none of them is an unpublished inspection station. You can ask to see the measure, the build, the install, and the service after the crew leaves.
The timings below are the ones published for a custom order. A larger house can sit at the long end of that range.
| Stage | What happens | When |
|---|---|---|
| Consult and measure | In-home measure of every opening, then style, colour, and glazing confirmed | The visit, then about one week |
| Custom manufacture | Built in Canada to those measurements, not taken from a shelf | Weeks two to four |
| Licensed installation | Factory-trained, licensed crew sets the unit, and the opening is not left exposed overnight | One to two days |
| After-install service | Warranty is activated, and a verified manufacturing or installation issue is handled at no cost | After the install |
If a quote jumps from a catalogue size to an install date, you are not looking at this process. You should be able to name the week the measurements were locked.
A winter with cold snaps that can drop past -20 C punishes a unit that was never measured for that opening. Window installation in Ottawa still ships from that same plant, and the showroom at 148 Colonnade Road South is not a second factory.
Installers are factory-trained and licensed, and they are the company's own crew. Before installing the new unit, they replace any faulty or deteriorating frame components, in line with Canadian Standards Association guidelines. The install usually takes one to two days, and each window typically takes 45 to 90 minutes.
A poorly installed window may cause condensation, cold drafts, or water leaks into the home. The fit is checked against the measure, not against a stock size.
The Canadian supplement to the fenestration standard sets minimum performance levels for water penetration , wind loads, and snow loads on buildings in Canada. That is a design-load method, not a published list of factory stations.
"The opening is the real inspection. When our crew sets a window we built, a sash that does not match the measure shows up before the casing goes on, and the unit can go back to the plant on that same order. A window bought from a reseller leaves the crew shimming someone else's mistake."
says Tony Wong, Project Manager, Canadian Choice Windows & Doors.
Replacing a deteriorated frame component is not a glass rebuild, and it is not film on the old pane. The company focuses on full window replacement rather than small repair jobs, so this check is part of an install, not a separate service you book. A crack in one pane of a sealed unit is a different job, and this check does not turn that crack into a new unit. It also does not prove the uPVC profile was extruded in Vaughan.
After the unit is in, the warranty is activated. These windows carry a 25-year transferable warranty , while door systems stay on their applicable terms. Coverage periods vary by component, so the frame, glass, hardware, and finish aren't covered under one flat promise. If a manufacturing or installation issue is verified, we dispatch a technician at no cost.
That service is why manufacture and install stay under one roof. You are not asked to sort out which company made the unit and which company set it. Accidental damage and misuse sit outside that promise, and a later owner can receive the warranty when it is transferred.
A window you can trace is measured for your opening, built in Canada in two to four weeks, and installed by the crew that can send a bad fit back. Some parts may start in Europe, the glass isn't remade on site, and a factory tour isn't part of the promise.
Canadian Choice Windows & Doors manufactures its vinyl windows, installs every order, and services it afterward, so the next step is measuring the opening before production starts.
Canadian Choice Windows & Doors™ manufactures its vinyl windows and steel entry doors in-house at 55 Westcreek Drive in Vaughan, Ontario. The finished unit is not outsourced. Some individual parts may be manufactured in Europe and are vetted before we assemble the product in Ontario.
Manufacturing takes about two to four weeks after you confirm measurements and options. The full path from the in-home consultation to the completed install is typically two to six weeks. A larger order typically falls toward the longer end of that range.
We finalize measurements and submit the order, confirming style, colour, and glazing before production starts. We then manufacture the unit in Canada to those specifications. We notify you when production is complete and set the install date.
The vinyl windows are manufactured in Canada at the Vaughan plant. They are not imported as finished units. Individual parts may come from Europe, and the Ottawa address on Colonnade Road is a showroom, not a second plant.
Before the new unit goes in, installers replace faulty or deteriorating frame components in line with CSA guidelines. The crew is factory-trained and licensed. The company has not published a list of factory inspection stations beyond that installation check.
